Benefits for CaregiversWedgwood Co-op is a great program full of opportunities for parents and caregivers. Caregivers own and operate the school allowing each parent to be personally involved in their child’s education and meet other families. Being a part of a co-op helps parents to expand their parenting skills by learning from the wisdom and parenting tools of parent educators, PAC lectures provided throughout the year, and most importantly from other parents in their same life stage! Learn more about what parents love on our blog.

Our commitment to teaching inclusion and celebrating diversity is an essential part of our community building within our school and throughout our Northeast Seattle neighborhood. Desirable Policies
What Makes Us Stand Out in the Co-op System
Wedgwood Cooperative Preschool is owned and operated by enrolled families. That means that each preschool in the North Seattle College system has slightly different policies depending on the decisions made by their board. Parents are encouraged to take the opportunity to serve on the board and shape their child's experience.
Here are some of the policies that make Wedgwood Co-op a desirable preschool:
Here are some of the policies that make Wedgwood Co-op a desirable preschool:
- Babes-in-Arms. To support families with new babies, parents may bring an infant under the age of six months to an older sibling’s class on the parent's workday. (Infant must be approved and registered, and certain rules must be followed in class.)
- Twins or Multiples. To facilitate parent/child separation, parents with more than one child in the same class may be permitted to work less in the classroom. (Must be approved to ensure that the class maintains proper ratios.)
- Alternate Caregivers. Adults other than the child's parents, such as a nanny or grandparent, may fulfill the classroom workday requirement. (Must be approved, and alternate caregiver must register with NSC.)
